Workshop Facilitators

Cindy Chan is a Registered Clinical Psychologist of the Division of Clinical Psychology of Hong Kong Psychological Society, who provides services including psychological assessment and treatment for adolescents, adults and elderly.  Cindy graduated at the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree, major in Psychology. To further pursue her study, she completed a diploma programme at the Department of Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also obtained a Master of Social Sciences (Clinical Psychology) degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Cindy is now studying for a Doctorate degree in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong.  Her research interest is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Anxiety and Depressive Disorders.  Cindy is professionally trained at the Beck Institute of Cognitive Therapy and Research, and currently a Certified Cognitive Therapist of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

 

 

Cindy worked with the Hospital Authority at the Castle Peak Hospital in Hong Kong from 2001 to 2008.   During this period, she served the Department of General Adult Psychiatry, Department of Forensic Psychiatry, and Department of Psychogeriatrics.  She also worked in the outpatient Forensic Clinic at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.   

 

 

Apart from her clinical duties, Cindy was also frequently invited to give lectures and workshops to professionals and general public.  She was appointed as Honorary Assistant Clinical Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, teaching courses in the Diploma in Community and Psychological Medicine.  She was also regularly invited to deliver lectures to psychiatric trainees in the Hong Kong Central Academic Course of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists.  She conducted workshops and talks for the general public in various topics, such as anxiety management and stress management.  Appointed as Honorary Clinical Supervisor in the Departments of Psychology of the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she made her share of contribution to the training of local Clinical Psychologists.  She had supervised Master level clinical psychology trainees from these two universities in their clinical practicum.

 

 

Emma T. WONG is a Registered Clinical Psychologist of the Hong Kong Psychological Society in private practice. She is experienced in helping people to deal with stress, emotional problems such as depression and anxiety, adjustment difficulties, as well as coping with chronic pain and chronic illness. 

 

Miss Wong has practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in Queen Mary Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital.

 

Besides conducting seminars and workshops for various organizations, she is currently a visiting Lecturer of the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She also teaches in the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education and the Open University of Hong Kong.

 

She received Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Hong Kong and Master in Clinical Psychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, she is also a Doctor of Philosophy student in the Department of Psychiatry, of the University of Hong Kong.
